Dear friends,
This world has taken a long stride forward but the happenings around us have not decreased. Each and every moment of our life inside or outside our shelter is getting unsecured day by day knowingly or unknowingly. we should know the fact that we are risking our life each and every day not using the subways, overhead bridge or may be by not obeying traffic signals or may be riding an automobile that is not in a good condition or just because you we are in a hurry.
Statistics are there to make us aware, but it may not be that accurate in order to spread information regarding number of motor vehicle accidents. But as an well educated and alert citizen, we can at least take some precautions which can prevent our premature deaths.
In the context of this growing world of technology, there are ample number of people who carry their mobile phones with hundreds of names/numbers stored in its memory but yet nobody, other than the owner, know which of these numbers belong to their near and dear ones? In case we are involved in an accident or had a heart attack and the people attending us get hold of our mobile phone but don't know which number to call to inform our family members. Yes, there are many numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? This is like you know what should have been done, but because it did not strike your mind before hand you are paying for that little omission you made. But you can still make a difference right now.
For this reason, we must have one or more telephone numbers stored under the name ICE (In case of Emergency) in our mobile phones. Recently, the concept of "ICE" is catching up quickly. It is simple and important method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by majority of the population, just store the number of a contact person or person who should be contacted at during emergency as ICE" (meaning =In Case of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. Following a disaster in London, the East Anglican Ambulance Service has launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number stored as "ICE" or where everybody does not understand what is ICE, better we can write it as “In Case of ER” ( as ER is universally meant as Emergency ). Please save your home phone no as “IN case of ER” right now when you are reading this. it would not take much of your time, rather it can help adding an advantage and a chance to help yourself out when in accidents that you have never ever dreamt of. At least some humble person can inform your family and you can be rushed to the hospital, just because you have thought before that you can come across this condition at some stage of your life. Also inform you family right now what does it mean and what they should do when you are helpless. Educate those surrounding you who is illiterate but still manage to handle mobile phones. This is just a token of advice from my side which when thought from an awareness perspective, you all including me will be benefited.
let’s make a difference in our life=== let’s popularize ICE as our life savior in need. Queries???????—but this would let others find out the contact no. of our house and add up to the number of bluff calls,is it not the truth????. Yes definitely if you are stupid enough to let everybody peep into your privacy . But think what if you do not do this----- you will be left in the middle of the road helpless and would be the center of attraction of a crowd who is even more helpless than you.. Choose yourself, which way is the right one? This is not a message forcing you to do whatever I told you to. If you think you can educate others by forwarding this----you do it right now,do not wait to propagate the message that will in turn help yourself and humanity.
Thanks a lot for wasting your time to learn something.
